ABOUT DEBORAH
I have always been very passionate about helping people. After graduating with my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Georgian Court University, I pursued my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgian Court University. I completed my internship at Georgian Court University’s Counseling Center during my academic journey. The experience was immensely gratifying, particularly my interactions with college students. I found their approach to seeking counseling and their genuine desire for personal growth truly remarkable. My time at the university counseling center fueled my passion and provided invaluable insights into collaborative teamwork. This experience inspired my transition to private practice, where I aim to continue making a positive impact.
APPROACH TO THERAPY
I am committed to establishing a secure and nurturing environment where my clients feel comfortable expressing their emotions and sharing their experiences. My goal is to affirm my clients’ feelings and assist them in understanding that they are not navigating their challenges alone. I know the profound pain and isolation that can accompany difficult times. I wholeheartedly believe in accompanying my clients on their journey, providing unwavering support at every step.
PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH
I have completed my Perinatal Mental Health Certification through Postpartum Support International. This training equipped me with specialized skills to assist individuals facing challenges such as infertility, perinatal and infant loss, traumatic birth experiences, survivors of childbearing sexual abuse, and those encountering perinatal mental health disorders. I believe in PSI’s mission statement: “You are not alone, you are not to blame, and with help, you will be well.” The transition to parenthood is a profoundly transformative time, often accompanied by numerous struggles. I am here to offer support for any difficulties you may encounter during this journey, serving as your strongest advocate.
